Dr. Carolyn Castiglia
"The profession of medicine is a form of public service. Every patient cared for is a life strengthened, a family supported, and a community made healthier." Carolyn Castiglia, DO
Dr. Carolyn Castiglia has served the south shore of Long Island for the last 25+ years as a trusted, board-certified family practitioner. Dr Castiglia earned her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and stayed local to complete her internship and residency at Long Beach Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. Her medical leadership continued after residency, with clinical teaching appointments at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
Dr. Castiglia chose to be a primary care physician to build lasting relationships with patients and their families. She firmly believes that understanding the full picture of a person’s health is essential to providing thoughtful, individualized care that improves the quality of her patients’ lives. Her patients describe her as approachable, sincere, and detailed in her care, leaving no stone unturned until her patients have a plan of care they understand.
Born in the Bronx and raised in New Rochelle before moving to Long Island prior to high school, Dr. Castiglia is a life-long New Yorker. She comes from a multigenerational family of public servants, and service is at the core of the family code. She is a strong supporter of Tunnel to Towers and other charities that honor and support the many that help and serve their communities. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family swimming, golfing, traveling (Rome Italy is a favorite), and cheering on her New York Yankees.
